CAMBRIDGE COMBINATORIAL APPOINTS COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR Cambridge Combinatorial, which specialises in the provision of world class combinatorial chemistry services, has appointed David Phillips as its Commercial Director, with effect from 1 March 1998. David Phillips joins Cambridge Combinatorial from Cephalon Inc where he was Director of Sales and Marketing for Europe bringing with him over 17 years of pharmaceutical sales and marketing experience, including 14 years with Glaxo plc. David Phillips started his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1981 at Glaxo, having previously obtained a BSc in Pharmacology from Chelsea College, London University. Mr Phillips progressed rapidly through the company, beginning as Marketing Trainee, then taking responsibility for setting up marketing departments in respiratory diseases, in particular for Ventolin, Ventodiske, Ventide and Beconase. He subsequently became National Sales Manager for Glaxo's Allen & Hanburys division in 1990, International Product Manager for Imigran in 1992 and Marketing Strategy Manager for Migraine in 1993. In 1994 he became Senior Markets Strategy Manager for Cardiovascular, Diabetes and New Therapy Area Groups. Dr Allan Marchington, Chief Executive of Cambridge Combinatorial said:
